As characters battle with each other and heal each other, they gain friendship levels, which allow them to aid each other in battle. There are five different friendships levels, starting at Ally, going to partner, friend, trusted and finishing with soulmate.
In order to progress to the next level, a certain amount of points are needed, which are obtained either by characters both attacking the same enemy and by healing allies, and a third way. The amount of points gained depends on what action is carried out.
If a character dies, all their friendships points with other characters drops by 10, or by 15 if they're at Soulmate level. This of course will drop their support levels with every other Force member, if there is one. Points can never go to negative levels, so 0 is the lowest amount of points a character can have. As the maximum amount of points is 45, even if friendships points are maxed out, death of a character will still result in a lowering of a support level.
Ally: The default friendship level. No friendship support is received.
Partner: Characters become Partners once they gain 10 points between them. It's the first level of support.
Friend: Characters become Friends once 20 points are gained between them. It’s the second level of support.
Trusted: Characters become Trusted once 30 points are gained between them. It’s the third level of support.
Soulmate: Characters have a chance of becoming Soulmates once 45 points are gained. After that, each time a point is gained, there's a 33% chance the friendship will increase from Trusted to Soulmate on the first time, 56% chance on the second time and a 70% chance every time thereafter. If the two characters fail at becoming soulmates, their friendship points drops back to 30, and they must work their way back up once more. Another requirement that needs to be met before two characters become soulmates is that there has to have been a certain level of role playing between them. This will be determined by me.
Characters benefit from friendship support if they are standing adjacent. If they are at the soulmate level however, they will benefit if they're one space away also.
There are ten different types of support given: attack, defense, speed, magic, magic resistance, critical, counter, luck, evade, succumb. What type of support a character gives is dependent on the class they are. When players are building their characters, they will get the opportunity to choose what kind of support their character will give.
